Teletrac Launches New Color Touchscreen (CT) to Complement Their Award Winning Turn-by-Turn Navigation.

Teletrac continues its mission of providing intelligent driving solutions by launching a new in-vehicle mapping solution: The Color Touchscreen. The CT is an optional piece of hardware designed to complement Teletrac's voice prompted Turn-by- Turn (TBT) navigation products.

''Through extensive customer surveys we realized that certain customers viewed an in-vehicle mapping component as a distraction, while others felt it was a must have. Rather than isolate our offering in one camp, we are responding by offering the best of both worlds" said Rex Frye, Director of Operations for Teletrac.

The screen enables drivers to follow a route using detailed color mapping. The map view facility allows the driver to see their whole route from beginning to end and they can use an auto zoom function to pan across the map-in and out- even when not on a route. Drivers can select the auto zoom function to automatically increase the zoom level at junctions, helping them to identify their exact position. The new CT displays the vehicle's location, direction and speed, current traffic conditions, and continuously updates the estimated time of arrival and distance to the destination. The CT utilizes high quality, in-depth NAVTEQ® map data for North America to provide reliable, accurate routing.

Additionally, the CT also offers drivers a variety of easy ways to download a route. Alongside full address entry, routes can also be requested through a choice of up to 20 "favorite" destinations, which are pre-set by the driver. The last five destinations are also automatically saved on the system and can be simply requested again.
