Hours of Service

With Fleet Director’s Hours Of Service (HOS) software module, you can fully automate the entry, recording, completion and storage of all required information needed for your drivers’ logbooks —from the cab. Time-consuming and error-prone manual logbook entries and manual audits can now be eliminated.

Easy to use, easy to understand screens simplify driver workloads. The content and sequence of the screens facilitate rapid data entry and full compliance with all DOT and FMCSA regulations.

Fleet Director HOS data is recorded, transmitted and displayed via Fleet Director’s in-cab Message Display Terminal (MDT), the Net 960 CE-X. Drivers use the Fleet Director MDT to enter all relevant HOS information such as DriverID and Current Status. Then with a simple push of a button, the information is sent via a wireless network to your computer for storage and retrieval. The stored data may also be transmitted to drivers as needed.

Up to 8 days of driving data is available for in-cab display. And, the HOS module also easily accommodates slipseat operations.

FD_report_DOTHOS2The HOS software module is fully integrated with other Fleet Director components for seamless operation. And, per FMCSA regulations, any electronic recorder used for HOS compliance must be connected to the vehicle’s engine Electronic Control Module (ECM). Fleet Director meets this requirement via a standard J-bus connection.

The Net 960CE-X MDT is also used for all other dispatch-to-driver, driver-to-dispatch communications including stored and free form text messages.

Further, Teletrac captures, correlates and archives all required HOS data, from “total time driving since last qualified rest” to all underlying information: driver, vehicle, trailer, shipper, driver status, date, time, and much more—all saved as a permanent electronic log, eliminating virtually all paperwork.

The Net-960ce Message Display Terminal offers flexibility for your business. In addition to the basic set of context sensitive function keys, the Net-960ce has a graphic display (LCD) panel that allows the driver to view free text messages and graphics. Drivers can also enter variable alphanumeric data (such as customer name/number and quantity delivered) in “fill-in-the-blanks” form messages before transmittal. The message display terminal allows Fleet Director to also produce a variety of vehicle reports.
